Loyola Marymount University (LMU), occurs as personal, co-co-ed Roman Catholic university in the United States. Set in Los Angeles, California, the university is one of 28 member institutions of the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities. LMU was created withwithin 1973 per merger of deuce Catholic colleges in Los Angeles.

A foremost predecessor to LMU wwhen founded around 1911 as Los Angeles College per Society of Jesus, and changed its title to Loyola College of California within 1918. Loyola opened a school of law around 1920, moved to its present campus in the Westchester district of Los Angeles in 1929, & became Loyola University within 1930.

Loyola Law School did not move by using the rest of the university, however remains to this day inside a location good west of downtown Los Angeles. A todays law school campus was designed by Frank Gehry and is a pleasant exception to its dreary surroundings in the Pico-Union neighborhood.
